New Barça Signing Embraces Childhood Dream

The boyhood dream is now a shirt on his shoulders and a badge under his hand.

A new Barça signing stepped into the spotlight and did not bother to hide what this move means to him.

“Playing for Barça is the greatest thing, it comes with a lot of responsibility, but I’m ready,” he said, laying out the weight of the moment as plainly as he could. “The players who have worn the shirt before carry a lot of weight. You don’t sign for a club like this every day, I’m very excited.”

This is not just another transfer for him. It is the culmination of a path he has carried in his head since childhood. When Barcelona’s interest hardened, hesitation never entered the room.

“I found out quite late. I knew there were talks,” he admitted. “As soon as I knew Barça was a serious option, I had no doubts. It’s the best club in the world. It’s a childhood dream and now it’s come true.”

The move drops him straight into a dressing room loaded with talent and expectation. That prospect, rather than daunting him, seems to fuel him.

“Playing with Lamine and the rest is exciting. They are top players, the best in the world. I saw it when we played against them,” he said, recalling the night he stood on the opposite side of the pitch.

That memory is still sharp. St. James’ Park, noise pouring down from the stands, the kind of European atmosphere that usually rattles visiting sides. On that occasion, though, it was two Barça midfielders who took control.

“Playing at St. James’ Park is difficult because of the intense atmosphere, but Frenkie and Pedri outplayed us.”

He has seen the level up close. Now he has chosen to live inside it.
