Mohamed Salah Faces Driving Ban and Fine for Speeding Offence

Mohamed Salah has been handed a driving ban and fine by Warrington Magistrates' Court after failing to identify who was behind the wheel of his luxury electric Rolls-Royce "Spectre" during a speeding offence.

The Trabzonspor forward, 34, was convicted in absentia in Cheshire after the car, worth more than 466,000 euros, was caught speeding by a mobile camera in March 2026. Police requested the name of the driver. They never received it.

That silence proved decisive. Instead of a straightforward speeding case, Salah was charged with failing to identify the driver responsible for the offence. Magistrates delivered their verdict in August 2026, suspending his licence for six months and issuing a fine of 769 euros.

According to The Sun, two court summonses were sent to Salah’s mansion, valued at more than 5 million euros. He did not attend. With no appearance and no explanation, the court pressed on, heard the evidence in his absence and ruled on the documents in front of it.

It is not the first time Salah’s driving has drawn official attention. In 2022, police caught him at excessive speed in a "Ferrari F8 Tributo", a flash of supercar power that ended with a financial penalty and three points on his licence.

Go back further and another incident appears on the record. In 2018, he was filmed using a mobile phone while driving near Anfield.

On the pitch, Salah’s reputation has been built on precision and control. Away from it, the traffic offences are starting to form a pattern the courts are no longer willing to overlook.
