Milan Targets Zakaria El Ouahdi for Defence Reshaping

Milan have zeroed in on Morocco international Zakaria El Ouahdi as they look to reshape the right side of their defence this summer.

Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Rossoneri are actively studying a move for the Genk full-back, with the deal designed to cover the imminent departure of Atekami, who is close to joining Olympique Lyon.

Born in 2001, El Ouahdi has already built a solid reputation in Belgium and beyond. PSV Eindhoven tracked him earlier in the window, with several reports in the Netherlands highlighting coach Peter Bosz’s strong interest in bringing him to the Eredivisie.

Genk, though, are not blinking. The Belgian club value the defender at between 13 and 15 million euros and are standing firm on that price. For now, they show no intention of softening their stance or rushing into a sale.

Milan have not yet put an official offer on the table, but the courtship is real. The Serie A giants see El Ouahdi as a leading candidate for the role and are weighing up their next move as the market accelerates.

If the deal goes through, El Ouahdi would become the second major Genk talent to step onto one of European football’s biggest stages this summer, following Konstantinos Karetsas’ high-profile switch to Borussia Dortmund for around 35 million euros.
