Max Eberl Commits to Bayern: A Journey of Responsibility

Max Eberl has tied his future to Bayern, and for the former youth player it feels less like a career move and more like a return vow.

Having risen through the club’s academy before making his name elsewhere, Eberl framed his contract extension as a continuation of a journey that began in Munich as a teenager. Bayern, he stressed, has never really left him.

“Bayern has been close to my heart ever since my time in the youth ranks,” he said, underlining the emotional weight behind the decision. “Like my fellow board members, I therefore want to continue on the path we have embarked on and, in the interests of the entire Bayern family, continue to do everything I can to achieve sporting success.”

The message was clear: this is about more than a job title. It is about responsibility and expectation at a club that measures itself only in trophies.

Eberl also highlighted the backing he has received from the hierarchy as a key factor in committing his future. “The trust shown in me by the supervisory board is a valuable vote of confidence, and one that I am very pleased about,” he added.

Jan-Christian Dreesen echoed that sense of unity from the top of the club. The Bayern CEO welcomed the agreement and made it clear that the ambitions in Munich remain as sharp as ever.

“First of all, I would like to thank the supervisory board for their trust,” Dreesen said. “I am delighted to be continuing my work at Bayern with energy and passion.”

He set out the mission in blunt terms. Bayern are not merely trying to stay competitive; they want to stay ahead.

“As the executive board, together with our staff, members and fans, we intend to do everything in our power to ensure Bayern remains the top club of which we are all so proud. That is what drives us – and we still have a lot more to achieve.”

In Munich, the bar is already high. Eberl and Dreesen have just nailed their colours to it.
