Manuel Angel Joins Fulham from Real Madrid Amidst Busy Summer Transfers

Fulham have secured the permanent transfer of midfielder Manuel Angel from Real Madrid, signing the 22-year-old on a three-year contract. The transfer fee is reported to be £3 million, with Real Madrid retaining a 50% sell-on clause. Angel follows two other Real Madrid talents who recently moved to Fulham, linking up with manager Alvaro Arbeloa at Craven Cottage.

Angel Joins Former Teammates Under Arbeloa

Manuel Angel’s arrival continues the trend of players moving from the Santiago Bernabeu to West London this summer. He joins Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios in reuniting with Arbeloa, who once coached them at Real Madrid. This signing aims to strengthen Fulham’s midfield options as they prepare for the Premier League challenges ahead.

Angel Shares His Excitement

"It's an incredible feeling to have signed for such a legendary club as Fulham, the oldest in London, and to compete in a league like the Premier League, where every player dreams of playing at some point in their career," Angel told Fulham’s official website. "I'm also looking forward to experiencing the passion of the fans – especially our own supporters at Craven Cottage."

Fulham’s Summer Recruitment Push

In addition to Angel, Fulham has strengthened its squad with other significant signings:

  • Hugo Larsson – Swedish midfielder arriving from Eintracht Frankfurt on an initial loan, with an obligation to buy for £18.3 million next summer.
  • David Affengruber – Austrian centre-back signed from Elche on a four-year contract, including an option for an extra year.

These additions reflect Fulham's desire to assemble a competitive team capable of maintaining their status in the Premier League.

Upcoming Match and Team Ambitions

Fulham prepares to face London rivals Crystal Palace at Craven Cottage in their third Premier League game this season. After back-to-back losses against Chelsea and Sunderland, Arbeloa and his squad are keen to earn their first points. The derby provides a stage for new signings like Angel to make an immediate impact and help lift the team out of the relegation zone.
