Leandro Trossard Joins Besiktas from Arsenal

Leandro Trossard’s Arsenal chapter is over. The next one begins on the Bosphorus.

The 31-year-old Belgium international has completed a permanent move from Arsenal to Besiktas, signing for the Turkish Super Lig club on Wednesday for a reported £15.3 million fee.

It draws a firm line under a spell in north London that began with promise and ended with a Premier League winner’s medal. Trossard arrived from Brighton in January 2023 as a smart, opportunistic signing; he leaves as part of the group that finally dragged Arsenal back to the summit of English football for the first time in more than two decades.

Transfer Fee: £15.3 million

Across all competitions, Trossard pulled on the Arsenal shirt 174 times, scoring 36 goals and laying on 34 assists. Those numbers tell a story of consistency and versatility, a winger trusted to knit attacks together as much as finish them.

He also carried that form onto the biggest stage, featuring for Belgium at the 2026 World Cup and reinforcing his status as a seasoned international who can operate under pressure.

At Arsenal, competition for places in the forward line has grown fiercer with every window. The club is evolving, reshaping a title-winning squad for the next cycle. Besiktas now step in with the lure of a central role, European nights in a different setting, and a fanbase renowned for its intensity.

Arsenal marked his departure with a formal message of appreciation, stating on their website: “Everyone at Arsenal would like to thank Leo for his valued contribution to the club and wish him all the best for his future.”

A clean break, respectful on both sides. For Trossard, it is a fresh stage. For Arsenal, another sign that a champion squad does not stand still.
