Kalvin Phillips Nears Sheffield United Return; PSG Set to Sign Monaco's Akliouche

Kalvin Phillips, the Manchester City midfielder, looks ready to embark on another loan spell with Championship side Sheffield United. Since joining City from Leeds United in 2022, the 30-year-old has struggled for game time, making only 32 appearances. His recent seasons have been disrupted by injuries and multiple loans to clubs including West Ham United and Ipswich Town.

Phillips played just three games for Sheffield United last season due to a knee injury but is expected to rejoin them soon. Reports from the Manchester Evening News suggest his return will be confirmed shortly. Despite having two years remaining on his City contract, he was omitted from their pre-season squad as arrangements for his move are finalized.

PSG Close to Signing Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco

Paris Saint-Germain appears set to secure the transfer of Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that PSG have made significant progress in talks, edging out Liverpool who had also shown interest in the 24-year-old attacker.

Akliouche has impressed with 23 goals and 28 assists over 139 games for Monaco. Last season alone, he contributed seven goals and 11 assists in 43 appearances. The French international, with 10 caps, also brings valuable Champions League experience, scoring three times and assisting five in 20 matches at that level. Primarily playing on the right wing, he can adapt across various attacking roles.

Middlesbrough in Talks to Re-sign Everton Goalkeeper Mark Travers

Middlesbrough are reportedly negotiating with Everton to bring goalkeeper Mark Travers back on loan. Travers spent part of the 2024-25 season with Boro on loan, appearing 17 times. After moving to Everton from Bournemouth last summer, he found opportunities limited, making only two appearances behind first-choice Jordan Pickford.

Sources from Football Insider reveal that Travers is eager to leave Everton this summer to gain regular playing time, with Middlesbrough aiming to secure his services again. Wrexham has also been linked with interest in the goalkeeper, who amassed 82 appearances for Bournemouth before his Everton transfer.
