Juventus Pursue Sorloth as Vlahovic Replacement Before World Cup

Juventus have made their move. Alexander Sorloth has said yes.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Bianconeri have reached a full agreement with the Norway international on personal terms and are now locked in talks with Atletico Madrid, racing to get the deal done before the World Cup kicks off.

Contract sealed with Sorloth

Sorloth, an experienced centre-forward, has agreed to a contract worth €4m per season, running until 2029 with an option for 2030. For Juventus, it is the framework of a long-term bet: a physically imposing No. 9 to lead the line in the post-Dusan Vlahovic era.

The urgency is clear. Vlahovic has decided to leave Turin as a free agent when his contract expires in June, forcing Juve to move early and decisively in the market.

Sorloth’s immediate focus lies elsewhere, though. Norway are set to make their World Cup debut against Iraq on June 17 (CET), and Juventus want the transfer situation resolved before the striker steps onto that stage.

Atletico’s price and Premier League pressure

Atletico Madrid are ready to listen to offers. They know Sorloth has a market.

The Spanish club value the forward at around €30m-35m, a figure shaped not only by his performances in LaLiga but also by interest coming from the Premier League. Juventus, for their part, are trying to keep the fee under €30m, confident that an agreement is within reach even if the handshake has not yet arrived.

That confidence comes with a possible bargaining chip.

Nico Gonzalez spent the 2025-26 season on loan at the Wanda Metropolitano and does not want to return to Turin this summer. Juventus may have to offer Atletico a discount on the permanent purchase of Nico to help bridge the gap in the Sorloth negotiations, effectively tying the two deals together.

Medicals on standby

The plan is already sketched out. If Juventus and Atletico Madrid find common ground before the World Cup begins, a club representative from Turin will fly to the United States to oversee Sorloth’s medical tests ahead of the transfer.

For now, the numbers are being argued over in meeting rooms in Italy and Spain, while Sorloth prepares with Norway and waits for the green light that could reshape both his career and Juventus’ attack for years to come.
