Juventus Reopens Talks for Kolo Muani's Return
Randal Kolo Muani’s Juventus story may not be finished yet. Far from it.
Juventus have reopened talks with the French forward, currently on the books at PSG, with reports indicating the 26-year-old has shown what has been described as “total openness” to returning to Turin for the 2026-27 season.
This is not a new crush. It is an old obsession.
The memory that won’t fade in Turin
Kolo Muani’s half-season loan at Juventus in 2024-25 left a strong imprint. Dropped into Serie A midway through the campaign, he responded with eight goals in 16 league matches, averaging a strike every other game and quickly convincing many in Turin that he was built for the black-and-white shirt.
His blend of power, movement and direct running gave Juventus a sharper edge in the final third. For a side often accused of playing within themselves, he offered a different rhythm, a more vertical threat. The Allianz Stadium crowd warmed to him quickly.
Juventus tried to turn that chemistry into something permanent the following summer. The club pushed to bring him back from PSG, only to run into the familiar wall of negotiations with the French champions. The deal collapsed, and Kolo Muani’s path veered away from Italy and into north London.
Tottenham struggle, Juve’s interest survives
The move to Tottenham Hotspur did not deliver the same spark. On loan in the Premier League for 2026-27, Kolo Muani endured a punishing season. One goal in 30 league appearances told its own story, a stark contrast to his productive spell in Serie A.
For Spurs, the campaign bordered on disaster. They avoided relegation to the Championship by just two points, clinging on in a season that exposed structural flaws across the squad. Kolo Muani, often on the periphery, became a symbol of a project that never quite clicked.
Yet Juventus have not been put off. They have seen the version of the player that thrived in Turin and remain convinced that is closer to his true level than the struggling forward at Tottenham.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the club have moved again in recent weeks, re-establishing contact with the player’s camp. The response from Kolo Muani’s side has been clear: he is fully open to a return to Italy and to Juventus.
Blocked exits and a stalled PSG future
Juventus did not wait until this summer to test the waters. Romano reports that the Bianconeri tried multiple times across the 2025-26 season to prise Kolo Muani away, only to be blocked by then Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank. Even though the striker was not a regular starter, Frank refused to sanction his departure, preferring to keep him as an option rather than lose depth in attack.
Back in Paris, the situation is different but equally decisive. PSG are under no financial pressure to sell and show little enthusiasm for reintegrating Kolo Muani into their plans. He is not a priority for them. That creates an opening.
Juventus have seized on that gap, maintaining direct contact with the player’s entourage and working on a formula that could finally unlock a deal. This time, they believe the conditions are more favourable: a willing player, a club not desperate to keep him, and a clear role waiting for him in Turin.
The question now is simple: after a season that nearly dragged Tottenham into the Championship, can Kolo Muani find again the version of himself that lit up Serie A – and is Juventus prepared to bet, once more, that he can?
