Paris Saint-Germain have joined the scramble for JJ Gabriel, the 15-year-old phenomenon shaking Manchester United to its core after telling the club he wants out.
The teenager, dubbed “Little Messi”, is one of the crown jewels of United’s academy and widely seen as one of the brightest prospects in English football. His decision to push for a move has stunned staff at Carrington, not least because it comes just weeks after he wrote his name into the club’s record books as their youngest-ever player to feature in a match.
A bombshell after a hat-trick
The timing could hardly be more dramatic. Gabriel has just hit a hat-trick in the UEFA Youth League against Azerbaijani side Sabah, underlining exactly why Europe’s elite are circling. Over the summer, he stepped onto the pitch in Stockholm in a 2-1 friendly win over Atletico Madrid, becoming the youngest player ever to wear the Manchester United shirt in any game.
Everything pointed towards a long future in red. Then came the transfer request.

This is where his case becomes a legal and sporting flashpoint. Gabriel’s father is a former Irish international, and his mother is of Cypriot origin. The family have a realistic chance of securing a ruling that allows him to move this year, and that possibility has Europe’s biggest clubs on high alert.
PSG push hard, but Real Madrid lurk
Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona are all tracking the youngster, according to English reports. The Athletic adds that Paris Saint-Germain are not just watching – they are pushing aggressively to land him.
PSG’s recruitment strategy in recent years has leaned heavily on hoovering up elite young talent, and Gabriel fits that blueprint perfectly. A 15-year-old with a record-breaking debut, a European hat-trick and a Messi-inspired nickname is exactly the sort of player they want in Paris.
Yet the French champions may not be in pole position.
Rumours from Spain suggest Real Madrid are currently the closest to securing his signature. Los Blancos, who have turned their Castilla side into a launchpad for the likes of Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo before they became global stars, are keen to add Gabriel to that conveyor belt. The young Englishman is said to be open to the idea of joining Madrid’s project.
