Jérémy Doku Signs New Contract with Manchester City Until 2031
Jérémy Doku has committed his future to Manchester City, signing a new five-year contract that runs until 2031, with an option for an extra year, the club have confirmed.
The deal ties down one of last season’s most electric attackers and continues a clear pattern at the Etihad. Doku becomes the latest cornerstone of Pep Guardiola’s squad to sign long term, following Phil Foden, Josko Gvardiol and Abdukodir Khusanov in agreeing fresh terms this summer.
At 24, Doku is being locked in for his peak years. He featured 47 times in all competitions last season and scored eight goals, offering City a direct, high-tempo threat out wide that Guardiola leaned on heavily during a gruelling campaign.
Reijnders talks with Saudi side
While City secure one key piece, another could be on the move.
Sources have told ESPN that the Premier League champions are in negotiations with Saudi Pro League club Al-Qadsiah over a deal for midfielder Tijjani Reijnders. There is no agreement yet, but discussions are ongoing over a package worth more than £50 million.
Reijnders only arrived at City last summer from Milan for £46.5m and, like Doku, made 47 appearances across all competitions in his debut season. His potential departure would represent a swift turnaround for a player who quickly became part of Guardiola’s rotation.
City’s stance, according to sources, is clear: any midfielder who leaves before the deadline will be replaced. The recruitment department is braced for movement.
Rodri tension grows
That readiness is driven by more than just the Reijnders situation.
Inside the club, there is a growing acceptance that Rodri is likely to join Barcelona. The Spanish side have already tested City’s resolve twice, with their second bid of £55m rejected. City value the midfielder at more than £60m, even though he has only a year left on his contract.
