ITV Secures Broadcasting Rights for 2027 Rugby World Cup

ITV will air every match of the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia, marking its tenth consecutive tournament coverage. The event features 24 teams competing across 52 live matches, including the last-16 knockout stage.

Alan Gilpin, World Rugby's chief executive, described this deal as more than just a partnership. He emphasized it as a commitment to making sure rugby's drama and iconic moments reach audiences throughout the UK.

ITV has been a broadcaster for every men's Rugby World Cup since 1991. The network has also secured rights for the 2026 and 2028 Nations Championship editions, alongside most Six Nations games up to and including 2029, sharing these with BBC Sport.

The network will cover every England men's match scheduled until summer 2029, with games involving Scotland, Wales, and Ireland also available free-to-air in the UK during this period.

The Rugby World Cup will kick off on October 1, 2027, with the host nation, Australia, facing Hong Kong in the opening match.
