Ismael Saibari Discusses Move to Bayern
At his official unveiling, Ismael Saibari left no doubt about why he chose Bayern and what he expects from the move.
“Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world,” he said, leaning firmly into the scale of the step he has just taken. “They've given me the confidence that I can develop as a player and person here.”
For Saibari, it is not just the badge that appealed, but the way the team plays. He spoke with real enthusiasm about the intensity that has become a hallmark of the club.
“They play with a lot of movement and high intensity. I saw that myself last season,” he explained. “They play very good football, it's always intense, they always look for finishes. I like that a lot.”
That constant drive towards goal clearly fits the way he sees his own game. The question now is where Vincent Kompany will use him.
On that point, there are still conversations to be had. Saibari admitted he and Kompany have not yet gone into tactical detail, with his recent focus fixed on recovering from injury and getting back to full fitness.
“I haven't discussed it [position] in detail with the coach. I've been focusing on my injury and comeback. We'll definitely talk about it soon,” he said.
What he did make clear is his natural home on the pitch.
“My favourite position is the number ten, everyone knows that,” he stated, before stressing his flexibility. “But I can play in several positions, we always switch around during games anyway. I can also play out wide and a bit deeper.”
A creative ten, comfortable drifting wide or dropping into midfield, walking into a side built on relentless movement and aggressive attacking patterns: Saibari knows the kind of football he’s stepping into. Now comes the hard part—turning that belief in the project into a starting place under Kompany.
