Inter Milan Sign Curtis Jones from Liverpool for £30m

Inter Milan have completed the signing of Curtis Jones from Liverpool in a deal that could rise to £30m, ending the midfielder’s 16-year stay at Anfield.

The Serie A champions will pay an initial £25.7m for the 25-year-old, with a further £4.3m tied to performance-related add-ons. Liverpool have also secured a 10% sell-on clause, while Jones has committed to a long-term contract at San Siro running until 2031.

A boyhood Liverpool player who joined the academy at nine, Jones broke into the first team under Jurgen Klopp and made his senior debut in 2019. From there he became a regular squad figure, racking up 228 appearances in all competitions for the club.

Last season under Klopp he featured 49 times, though only 18 of those came as Premier League starts. The shift to Arne Slot and the looming expiry of his contract next summer sharpened the decision. With no guarantee of a consistent starting role, Liverpool chose to cash in rather than risk losing him for nothing.

For Jones, the move offers a clean break and a prominent stage. He joins an Inter side fresh from another Serie A title and becomes the latest English player to head for Milan this summer, stepping into a new league, a new culture and the biggest challenge of his career so far.
