Inter Champions League Squad: Stones and Jones Lead Summer Signings
Inter have nailed down their squad for the 2026-27 Champions League league phase, and every one of their four summer signings is on the list. John Stones, Curtis Jones, Aleksandar Stankovic and Djed Spence are all registered across List A and List B in the submission to UEFA.
The paperwork went in by Wednesday, September 2, the deadline for all clubs involved in UEFA competitions after the close of the summer transfer window across most of Europe. Inter’s official communication lays out exactly who Simone Inzaghi can call on when the European campaign kicks off.
Inter leave List A spots open
UEFA regulations cap List A at 25 players, with at least two goalkeepers and a minimum of eight locally trained players. Inter fall one short of that homegrown quota, naming seven locally trained players and, as a direct consequence, registering only 23 names on List A instead of using the full allocation.
Those seven locally trained players are Ivan Provedel, Raffaele Di Gennaro, Alessandro Bastoni, Federico Dimarco, Mattia Marello, Nicolo Barella and Piotr Zielinski. Their presence shapes the structure of the squad as much as any tactical board.
Behind them, Josep Martinez joins Provedel and Di Gennaro in the goalkeeping group. Stones slots straight into the defensive unit alongside Manuel Akanji, Benjamin Pavard, Carlos Augusto, Yann-Aurel Bisseck and Spence, giving Inter a back line with depth, height and plenty of ball-playing quality.
Midfield, as ever with Inter, looks loaded. Zielinski and Barella are listed both among the locally trained contingent and the central core, joined by Petar Sucic, Luis Henrique, Andy Diouf, Hakan Calhanoglu, Curtis Jones and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. It is a blend of rhythm, control and incision that should give Inzaghi multiple shapes to work with across the league phase.
Up front, Marcus Thuram, Lautaro Martinez and Ange-Yoan Bonny carry the scoring burden. Three names, but a lot of responsibility.
Youth talent tucked into List B
The rules give clubs a separate List B for younger players who meet specific criteria. Inter use that space smartly.
Stankovic and Pio Esposito both qualify, having been born after January 1, 2005 and spending an uninterrupted period at the club. They move onto List B instead of taking up precious List A slots, keeping the senior list lean at 23 while still making the youngsters eligible for selection.
Inter have not publicly detailed the rest of their youth-eligible group, but the message is clear enough: the core is set, the new signings are in, and the door remains open for academy players to step into the Champions League spotlight if they prove ready.
