Ferran Torres Set for PSG Move as Barcelona Eyes Rodri Transfer
Barcelona are bracing for another major departure. After Ronald Araujo, Ferran Torres is set to be the next to walk out of the Camp Nou door, with Paris Saint-Germain closing in on the Spanish forward after his standout 2025/26 season and World Cup heroics.

Deal in final stretch
Cadena SER report that Barcelona and PSG are aiming to seal an agreement for Ferran between today and tomorrow, with the operation moving into its final phase.
The player has already shaken hands on personal terms with the French champions and is on standby to travel to Paris in the coming hours for his medical. The first signs of an imminent exit are already visible in Barcelona: Ferran did not train with the squad on Thursday, having also been excused from the previous session.
Both clubs are now ironing out the last details. The fee is expected to land at around €55 million, a significant figure for a player who has just one year left on his contract.
From a purely financial standpoint, Barcelona can hardly complain. Banking that kind of money for a short-contract player is sharp business. From a sporting perspective, though, they are losing a World Cup final hero who finally looked like he had hit his stride.
Ferran sale fuels Rodri push
This exit is not an isolated move. It is one half of a bigger plan.
Barcelona’s pursuit of Rodri remains the other major storyline of their summer, and Ferran’s sale is a key piece in that puzzle. The Catalan club have already sent Manchester City a second proposal worth €60 million, combining a fixed fee with variables, after seeing an initial €50 million bid rejected.
The response from England has been the same: no. Reports indicate City have also turned down this latest offer.
Barcelona are not backing off. Inside the club, there is still belief that a deal can be struck. The plan is to table a third, and final, proposal in the region of €70 million — €60 million guaranteed and €10 million in add-ons.
That is where Ferran’s transfer becomes decisive. The €55 million expected from PSG would not only bolster Barça’s cash position, it would also ease the pressure on salary limits and squad registration, giving them room to manoeuvre for a marquee signing in a crucial position.
One door is almost shut. Another, they hope, is about to swing wide open as they race to reshape the squad before the window closes.
