Endrick Commits to Real Madrid for 2025-26 Despite Aston Villa Interest
Endrick has chosen to remain at Real Madrid for the 2025-26 season, turning down interest from Premier League club Aston Villa. This decision followed discussions with coach Jose Mourinho, who plans to give the young Brazilian more playing time.
Agreement Reached Inside Real Madrid
Reports from The Athletic reveal that Endrick will continue his development in Spain despite offers from several top European teams attracted by his limited minutes. The choice came after talks between the player, club leaders, and Mourinho.
Throughout the summer, Endrick was heavily pursued by multiple clubs, especially Aston Villa, who have been watching him closely since his move to Europe.
Mourinho’s Tactical Plans for Endrick
The Portuguese manager intends to deploy Endrick mainly on the right wing this season. Mourinho does not see Federico Valverde or new signing Bernardo Silva as regular options there, so he wants Endrick to provide a natural attacking presence on that flank. This shift aims to create a balanced and flexible front line, allowing fluid position changes during matches.
Besides the wing role, Endrick will also be an important backup striker behind star Kylian Mbappe, sharing duties with newcomer Carlos Espi. This setup ensures the Brazilian will play a key part across La Liga and Champions League games.
Tracking Endrick’s Progress
Since arriving from Palmeiras in July 2024 for an initial €35 million plus €25 million in add-ons, Endrick has faced intense scrutiny and expectations. He has appeared 40 times for Real Madrid, scoring seven goals in mostly substitute appearances.
Internationally, he remains highly regarded, having been included in Brazil’s 26-man squad for the recent World Cup under former Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti. Endrick played in every game except one before Brazil’s exit in the round of 16 against Norway.
Real Madrid’s Season Preparation
As Real Madrid gears up for their La Liga opener against Espanyol on August 22, keeping Endrick signals a different approach than with other young talents. For example, promising teenager Franco Mastantuono has already been loaned out to Fiorentina for the season.
Endrick’s situation will be reviewed in January, following a similar pattern to earlier this year when he was loaned to Lyon due to limited playing time. During his time in Ligue 1, he impressed by scoring eight goals in 21 appearances across competitions.
