Djed Spence Begins New Chapter in Milan with Inter

Djed Spence is on the verge of a major reset to his career – and it starts in Milan tonight.

Inter and Tottenham have finally closed a deal after days of hard bargaining, agreeing a package worth €35m including add-ons. The agreement is built on a fixed fee of €31.5m, with bonuses taking it up to the full figure, while Spurs have also secured a 10 per cent cut of any future sale.

The move is now down to formalities and medicals.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the England international has already packed up and is due to land in Milan this evening. He will head straight to a hotel, where he will settle in ahead of a crucial Friday.

That is when the medical marathon begins. Spence will first undergo tests with Inter’s own staff, then face the required checks with CONI, the Italian Olympic Committee, to clear the final bureaucratic hurdles before signing.

Once he gets the all‑clear, the paperwork is ready. Spence is expected to put pen to paper on a five-year contract, reported to be worth €2.6m per season plus performance-related bonuses.

There is already a hint of symbolism attached to his arrival. It has been suggested that the right-back has chosen the Number 24 shirt, previously worn at Inter by another former Tottenham player, Christian Eriksen.

A new city, a new league, a number with history – and a €35m price tag. Now it is up to Spence to turn this Italian adventure into the defining chapter of his career.
