Dastan Satpayev Joins Burnley on Loan from Chelsea

Chelsea teenager Dastan Satpayev is set to take his first step into English senior football with a loan move to Burnley.

The 18-year-old Kazakhstan winger, who officially signed for Chelsea on his birthday on Wednesday, is close to joining the Championship club for the season. He agreed a £3.4m switch from Kairat FC back in January 2025 and penned a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge, with an option for a further year, as part of the long-term project being built around young talent in west London.

Chelsea have wasted no time mapping out his development. Satpayev has already travelled to Turf Moor and is expected to undergo a medical ahead of Burnley’s home game against West Ham on Sunday, with all parties aiming to have the deal wrapped up swiftly.

Burnley gain a highly rated wide player; Chelsea get the guarantee of regular minutes in a demanding division. It fits a clear pattern.

The London club are deep into another busy week of outbound business. Ryan Kavuma-McQueen has joined Portsmouth, Reggie Walsh has completed a move to Wigan Athletic and Shim Mheuka is also close to heading out, as Chelsea continue to send a wave of prospects across the country in search of game time.

Satpayev’s next stop is Burnley. What he does in the Championship will say plenty about how quickly he can climb the ladder back to Stamford Bridge.
