Dario Vidosic Departs Brighton After Historic Season
Brighton & Hove Albion have been rocked by the sudden departure of head coach Dario Vidosic, just a year into the three-year deal he signed after arriving from Melbourne City in 2024.
The Australian has cut short his contract on the back of a landmark campaign that dragged Albion into the spotlight of the women’s game. Under his watch, the Seagulls reached a first-ever Women’s FA Cup final and claimed eye-catching wins over Arsenal and Manchester City, results that signalled a team ready to muscle in on the WSL elite.
Now they are searching for a new leader at the very moment they were supposed to be closing the gap on Chelsea, City, Arsenal and Manchester United.

At 39, Vidosic was seen as the architect of a long-term rebuild on the south coast, a young coach with a clear identity and the backing of the club’s hierarchy. That plan has been abruptly interrupted.
Confirming his exit in a club statement, Vidosic underlined the personal nature of the call.
"I have loved my time at Albion and am proud of what we have achieved together. Leaving has been a difficult decision but I believe it is the right time for me and my family to begin a new chapter.
"I would like to thank the players, staff and supporters for their support throughout my time at the club and wish everyone associated with Albion every success."

Search for a successor
Brighton’s hierarchy are moving quickly. Reports from Spanish outlet Marca place former Real Sociedad boss Arturo Ruiz as the leading candidate to step into the vacancy.
Ruiz, if appointed, would inherit a squad built to challenge, not simply survive. The expectation is no longer mid-table comfort; this is a group tipped to disrupt the traditional top four and turn occasional upsets into a season-long habit.
Any delay or misstep now risks stalling that momentum.
Vidosic bound for NWSL
While Brighton regroup, Vidosic is already lining up his next move. Sources indicate he is poised to head to the United States to take charge of NWSL side Angel City, a club with big-market pull and serious ambition.
