Crystal Palace Signs Axel Disasi on Loan from Chelsea

Crystal Palace have moved again in the market, landing defender Axel Disasi on loan from Chelsea for the 2026-27 season as Pierre Sage’s rebuild gathers serious pace.

The 28-year-old centre-back arrives with Premier League miles already on the clock. Since joining Chelsea in 2023, Disasi has had loan spells at Aston Villa and West Ham, racking up 58 Premier League appearances across the three clubs and breaking into the France senior side with five caps.

Now he swaps those battles against Palace for life inside Selhurst Park’s back line.

“I’m very happy,” Disasi said after the move was confirmed. “The club has been going in a very good direction, so I think it was the right place for me to keep going.

“I know that it’s very tough to play against Palace at Selhurst Park – so I’m looking forward to being on the other side now.”

Sage has wasted no time putting his stamp on the squad, and Disasi becomes Palace’s seventh signing of the summer as the new manager reshapes his options. A powerful, experienced defender with top-flight and international pedigree is a clear statement about where he wants his team to be competing.

Chairman Steve Parish underlined that sense of ambition.

“We are pleased to welcome a defender of Axel’s experience and calibre to Palace for the season,” he said. “I look forward to seeing him in action at Selhurst Park.”

The deal is done. The back line has a new leader. With the window ticking down, the question for Palace now is simple: where should they strengthen next?
