Cody Gakpo Wants to Join Tottenham Hotspur
Cody Gakpo has informed Liverpool he wants out – and his heart is set on joining Roberto De Zerbi’s Tottenham Hotspur project.
The Dutch forward, 27, has grown increasingly convinced his future lies away from Anfield and has now taken the decisive step of making that clear to the club’s hierarchy. His representatives have already thrashed out personal terms in principle with Spurs and have moved on to direct talks with Liverpool to underline the player’s stance.
Gakpo no longer sees a long-term path for himself on Merseyside. The message from his camp is blunt: he wants the chance to move to north London and become a central figure in De Zerbi’s attacking rebuild.
Squeezed at Liverpool

The winger has been left hugely impressed by De Zerbi’s vision and by the prominence he’s being offered in it. This isn’t a squad role. It’s a promise of responsibility in a front line being reshaped in his image.
Spurs want another forward regardless and remain in the hunt for Manchester City’s Savinho, with confidence inside the club that they can bring in both players. Liverpool’s price – and Spurs’ response
