Chelsea Eyes Real Madrid's Eduardo Camavinga Amid Enzo Fernandez's Potential £120m Exit
Chelsea is exploring a late summer transfer for Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, after their attempts to sign Bournemouth's Alex Scott fell through. The Blues have had three bids turned down by the Cherries, who remain firm that Scott is not for sale ahead of the deadline. Chelsea reportedly offered up to £68 million, but manager Xabi Alonso is now looking at other midfield options.
Camavinga, a French international, has been linked with leaving Santiago Bernabeu since Jose Mourinho took charge at Real Madrid. Before, Manchester United showed interest but later signed Carlos Baleba from Brighton.
Enzo Fernandez Seeks Stamford Bridge Exit
The future of Chelsea's midfielder Enzo Fernandez remains uncertain. The 25-year-old Argentine expressed his wish to leave early in the summer. A move to Real Madrid fell through, but he could still depart before the transfer window closes. Manchester City and their manager, former Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca, are keen on signing him.
Maresca wants a strong replacement after Ballon d'Or winner Rodri moved to Barcelona for £65 million. Despite City planning to spend £86 million on Morocco's Ayyoub Bouaddi, they continue to pursue Fernandez.
Chelsea Sets High Price for Fernandez
Chelsea has made it clear they are not eager to sell Fernandez this window and have set his price at an astonishing £120 million. Still, they are preparing for the possibility of his departure by creating contingency plans.
Alongside Camavinga, Chelsea is monitoring other midfield talents such as Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton and Roma's Manu Kone, both impressing at their clubs and attracting attention.
Fernandez Remains Part of Alonso's Plans
Despite the transfer speculation, Fernandez played as a substitute during Chelsea’s Premier League opener, a thrilling 3-2 win over local rivals Fulham. Goals from Joao Pedro, Morgan Rogers, and Cole Palmer gave Alonso a winning start in his managerial career at the club.
Chelsea will pause league action briefly for cup matches, facing League One side Luton Town in the EFL Cup, followed by a league game against Brighton.
