Chelsea Targets Camavinga After Failed Scott Pursuit
Chelsea’s midfield rebuild has taken a sharp late-window twist, with the club sounding out a move for Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga after being flatly rebuffed in their chase for Bournemouth star Alex Scott, according to talkSPORT.
Three bids went in for Scott. Three were rejected. Bournemouth have made their stance crystal clear: the 23-year-old is not leaving before the deadline, no matter how much Chelsea push.
The London club’s final offer is understood to have climbed to around £68 million. Even that wasn’t enough to tempt the Cherries, leaving Xabi Alonso and the recruitment team scrambling for alternatives as the clock ticks down.
Camavinga back in the frame
That search has led them to Camavinga, whose future at the Santiago Bernabeu has been under scrutiny since Jose Mourinho took charge at Real Madrid. The France international has long been admired across Europe, and his name has never drifted far from the rumour mill.
Manchester United looked at him earlier in the window before turning to Carlos Baleba from Brighton. Now Chelsea are exploring whether there is any room to manoeuvre with Madrid as they brace for potential upheaval in their own midfield.
Fernandez at the heart of the storm
The uncertainty centres on Enzo Fernandez. The 25-year-old signalled early in the summer that he wanted out of Stamford Bridge, chasing what he considered a dream move to Real Madrid. That switch fell through, but the story has not gone away.
