If City fails to make an acceptable offer by then, Chelsea has stated Fernandez will remain at Stamford Bridge this transfer window. This valuation has been known to Fernandez and his representatives since May.

Why Manchester City Wants Enzo Fernandez

Enzo Maresca, recently appointed as Pep Guardiola's successor at Manchester City after leaving Chelsea midway through the 2025/26 season, sees Fernandez as a key midfield figure. Despite concerns about his temperament—highlighted by a red card in the World Cup final—Maresca values Fernandez highly. Since joining Chelsea from Benfica for £106.8 million in January 2023, Fernandez has contributed 31 goals and 29 assists in 167 appearances.
