Brighton Pursues Femi Azeez as Millwall Sets £15m Price Tag
Millwall have slapped a £15m price tag on winger Femi Azeez as Brighton push to get a deal done before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
The south-coast club, whose pursuit was first revealed by BBC Sport, have already seen two bids rejected in recent weeks, both just over the £10m mark. For now, they are still around £5m short of Millwall’s valuation.
Azeez, capped by Nigeria, is understood to be keen on the move to the Amex Stadium. The Premier League stage appeals, and Brighton see him as one of their leading targets in the final days of the window.
Millwall’s stance is clear. They are ready to let the 23-year-old take the next step in his career, but only if their demands are met. Until then, they hold firm.
The situation has already left its mark on the pitch. Azeez has been left out of Millwall’s last three matches, despite a standout 2023-24 campaign in which he scored 11 goals and registered 11 assists in 35 league games. That form earned him a place in the PFA Championship Team of the Year and put him firmly on Premier League radars.
Millwall only signed Azeez from Reading in 2024 for around £1m, a deal that now looks like one of the Championship’s smartest pieces of business. He is into the final 24 months of his contract, a ticking clock that adds extra edge to negotiations.
Wrexham, ambitious and upwardly mobile in the Championship, are also believed to have shown interest. But for Azeez, the priority is clear: the Premier League, and Brighton’s project in particular.
With the deadline looming and Brighton circling, the question is simple: who blinks first, Millwall or the south-coast club desperate to land one of the Championship’s most dangerous wide men?
