Bentley Joins Coventry City: Aiming for High Standards and Leadership
Bentley has wasted no time setting the tone at Coventry City, describing his move as a chance to dive into an “ambitious project” and vowing to inject leadership and high standards into the dressing room.
Speaking after sealing the switch, the goalkeeper made clear just how much the move means to him.
“Coventry City is a fantastic club and I'm really happy to get this deal over the line,” he told the club’s official website.
What drew him in? The trajectory. The sense that something is building.
“It feels like a place that is developing and, off the back of a fantastic season last year, there is a really good feel around the place. It is really positive and there is an obvious excitement to go into the new season with the aim of being as successful as possible.”
Bentley knows his role. He is not arriving as a prospect, but as a standard-setter.
“I will bring a lot of experience. I'm a senior player with good leadership qualities and I'm someone who has really high standards. I want to make my mark on the pitch as well, of course.”
He also nodded to the competition he will face between the posts, welcoming the challenge rather than shying away from it.
“There is a really good goalkeeping group here. When I get my opportunity, it is down to me to take it. I want to help the club get results in the Premier League.”
Coventry have their man. Now Bentley wants to prove exactly why they pushed to get this one “over the line.”
