Bayern Munich Secures 3–1 Victory Against Leipzig with Saibari's Debut

Bayern Munich eased into gear for the new campaign with a 3–1 win over RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena on Saturday, a friendly in name only as two of Germany’s heavyweights traded serious blows.

First Half

The hosts struck first. On 14 minutes, Luis Diaz, the Colombian winger brought in to add fresh spark to Bayern’s attack, opened the scoring, finishing off an early spell of pressure and giving the Bavarians control of the contest. They protected that narrow lead through to half-time, managing the tempo and keeping Leipzig largely at arm’s length.

Second Half

Leipzig came out after the break with a different edge. The response arrived on 52 minutes, when Bryan Gruda dragged them level, capping a bright start to the second half and briefly tilting the momentum away from Bayern.

The reply was ruthless. Just five minutes later, Nathaniel Brown restored Bayern’s advantage, racing onto a precise pass from Aleksandar Pavlovic and punishing Leipzig’s lapse. One sharp ball, one decisive finish, and Bayern were back in front.

Ismael Saibari's Debut

The evening then turned into a first audition for Ismael Saibari. The Moroccan international, signed from Eindhoven, stepped onto the pitch in the 71st minute, replacing Tom Bischof for his Bayern debut. He needed barely 10 minutes to leave a fingerprint on the game.

Drifting into pockets between the lines, Saibari picked his moment and teed up fellow substitute Jamal Musiala for Bayern’s third. The move underlined exactly why the club moved for him this summer: composure on the ball, vision in the final third, and the courage to take responsibility in tight spaces.

Musiala's Incident

Musiala’s contribution, though, ended in worrying fashion. Late in the match, in the 86th minute, the playmaker fainted and had to leave the field, bringing a sudden hush over the stadium. Young Senegalese player Bara Ndiaye came on in his place, handed an unexpected chance in the closing stages.

Bayern saw out the game from there, the 3–1 scoreline a fair reflection of their control once they reclaimed the lead.

Looking Ahead

Now the warm‑up is over. Next on the horizon is the domestic Super Cup against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, a first piece of silverware up for grabs, before Bayern turn fully to Bundesliga business with their opener against Stuttgart on 28 August.
