Bayern Munich to Make Michael Olise Top Earner with Bold Contract
Bayern Munich are preparing to place Michael Olise at the very top of their wage bill, a clear signal that the German giants see the French winger as the face of their future.
According to French outlet L'Équipe, the Bayern hierarchy want to hand Olise a new long-term contract that would make him the highest-paid player at the club, despite his current deal already running until 2029. It is not a renewal born of urgency, but of conviction.
Olise only arrived from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024, yet at 24 he has rapidly become one of Bayern’s standout performers. The club view him as a cornerstone of their next cycle and are prepared to stretch their salary structure to keep him in Munich.
The France international has long been linked with a dream move to Real Madrid. For now, that dream is being parked. L'Équipe report that Olise will remain in Germany for at least another season, with Bayern intent on locking him in on terms befitting his status.
A big part of the story is the environment he has walked into. Olise is said to have found the ideal setting to grow at Bayern, helped by a strong bond with coach Vincent Kompany, who has pushed his game onto a higher level. The club do not want to risk losing that partnership just as it begins to flourish.
One key change is expected in the new deal. While his first contract did not contain a release clause, any extension is likely to include one, a compromise that would protect Bayern financially while still giving Olise a potential path out in the distant future.
Current Salary Structure
To elevate him to top earner would mean surpassing some serious names. As of April 2026, Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala sat at the summit of Bayern’s pay scale, each earning around 2.1 million euros per month. Behind them came Manuel Neuer on 1.75 million euros, with Joshua Kimmich and Dayot Upamecano both on 1.66 million euros.
If Bayern follow through and place Olise above that group, it will be more than a contract tweak. It will be a statement about who they believe will lead this team into the next era.
