Arsenal Reopens Talks with Real Madrid for Endrick

Arsenal have gone back to Real Madrid for Endrick.

The Premier League champions have reopened talks with the Spanish giants this week, sounding out the situation of the Brazilian forward as they line up attacking reinforcements ahead of Gabriel Martinelli’s expected departure.

Endrick’s name has never been far from the headlines in Madrid this summer. Fresh from a productive loan spell at Lyon, the 20-year-old reported back to Valdebebas with his future up in the air and another loan move widely discussed inside and outside the club.

José Mourinho moved quickly to shut that down. The Real Madrid boss has publicly insisted that his young striker will not be leaving before the transfer window closes, a stance designed to calm the noise and show faith in one of the squad’s most exciting prospects.

The noise has not gone away.

Late this week, Arsenal were again linked with the former Palmeiras prodigy. According to TEAMtalk, club sources at Real Madrid have confirmed that the London side have made fresh enquiries about Endrick and have “renewed their interest” in the Brazilian.

It is not the first time Arsenal have tried to get a read on his availability. During previous discussions between executives at the Emirates and the Bernabéu over a deal for Vinícius Jr, the Gunners also raised Endrick’s name, asking about his situation and potential price.

Those conversations clearly left a mark. Arsenal have not walked away from the idea of bringing in the highly rated centre-forward, even with Mourinho drawing a firm line in public.

For now, Real Madrid insist Endrick stays. Arsenal, though, have placed their marker — and with Martinelli on the way out, their need for a new attacking focal point is only growing.
