Arsenal Initiates Talks with Galatasaray for Martinelli Transfer
Arsenal have opened the door to a clear-out, holding talks with Galatasaray over the potential sale of several squad players during the current transfer window.
Among the names placed in the shop window are Gabriel Martinelli and teenage prospect Ethan Nwaneri, with the London club understood to be inviting offers for both as they reshape Mikel Arteta’s attacking options.
Galatasaray have already tested Arsenal’s resolve over Martinelli. The Turkish champions are understood to have made a verbal proposal worth around €45m (£38.5m) for the Brazil international, a figure that underlines how highly he is rated across Europe.
The deal, though, has hit an immediate snag. Sources indicate there is reluctance on Martinelli’s side to make the move to Turkey, with the 25-year-old forward not convinced by the switch at this stage.
Talks between the clubs have gone beyond just Arsenal’s outgoing business. During discussions, the future of Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen is also understood to have been raised, adding another layer of intrigue to the negotiations and hinting at wider strategic conversations between the two sides.
Martinelli has already been on the radar of Europe’s elite this summer. Paris St-Germain registered tentative interest in recent weeks as they assessed attacking options, but the French champions have since turned their attention to other targets, leaving Galatasaray as the club most actively exploring a deal.
For now, Arsenal are listening. Galatasaray are pushing. And Martinelli, it seems, holds the key to whether this bold move actually happens.
