Arsenal Eye Barcola as Hall Pushes for Man Utd Move
The transfer window is sliding towards its frantic finale and England’s biggest clubs are right in the thick of it. Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham are all scrambling to shape their squads before the deadline slams shut, and the market has jolted again.
Arsenal sense an opening in Barcola chase
Arsenal have been given fresh encouragement in their pursuit of Bradley Barcola, with Liverpool now ready to walk away from talks after growing increasingly frustrated with negotiations. The Gunners are exploring wide attacking options and Barcola remains high on their list, while they also track potential moves involving Julian Alvarez and Iliman Ndiaye.
At the back, Jules Kounde has emerged as a serious defensive target, with Ezri Konsa also under consideration as Arsenal look to reinforce Mikel Arteta’s options.
Lewis-Skelly offered out as Hall eyes Old Trafford
Myles Lewis-Skelly’s future has been thrown into doubt. The versatile defender has been offered to both Chelsea and Manchester United following Bruno Guimaraes’s move to Arsenal, a transfer that has reshaped the Gunners’ plans and left Lewis-Skelly’s pathway less clear.
Manchester United, meanwhile, are actively searching for a left-back. Lewis Hall, David Raum, Antonee Robinson and Jorge Salinas are all on their radar.
Hall’s situation is becoming increasingly tense. Newcastle have told United that the England international is not for sale and are desperate to keep him, having already lost Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali and captain Bruno Guimaraes this summer.
Despite that, Hall remains very keen on a move to Old Trafford. According to reports, he has made his desire to leave clear and still harbours frustration over tactical decisions made under former manager Eddie Howe, which he believes contributed to him missing out on England’s 2026 World Cup squad. Those frustrations have not eased under new boss Matthias Jaissle, and Hall continues to push for a transfer.
Chelsea land Chavarria and brace for Enzo interest
Chelsea have wrapped up the signing of Pep Chavarria, confirming the defender as their ninth arrival of the summer.
Chavarria spoke of his delight at joining one of the “biggest clubs in the world” and vowed to bring energy, intensity and a box-to-box style to the Premier League, which he described as the best league for his game. He also paid tribute to his family for helping him reach this stage of his career and said he is eager to meet his new team-mates and get started.
Chelsea, though, are not just buying. They believe Manchester City are interested in Enzo Fernandez, a situation that could yet define the final weeks of their window.
Tottenham juggle exits and big attacking targets
Tottenham’s plans remain bold. Cody Gakpo and Savinho are still at the top of their attacking wishlist as they look to add more firepower for Roberto De Zerbi.
At the same time, Spurs are preparing for major movement in defence. Cristian Romero is set to join Atletico Madrid, while Inter Milan have returned to the table for Djed Spence.
Spence is edging closer to the exit. Inter are understood to be closing in on a deal worth around £25.6million, and the full-back is ready to test himself elsewhere after an impressive World Cup campaign that has raised his profile.
He wants guarantees over his playing time. De Zerbi cannot offer the minutes Spence craves and has made it clear he will not block a move for the 26-year-old.
Omar Marmoush, Florin Balogun and Georges Mikautadze have also been linked with Spurs as they weigh up further attacking reinforcements.
Tottenham have also sent young striker Yang Min-Hyeok back out on loan. After spells with Portsmouth and Coventry last season, Yang will spend the upcoming campaign in Belgium with Westerlo as the club look to continue his development away from north London.
Barcelona circle Porro as Kounde questions grow
Uncertainty around Jules Kounde’s future has reached Barcelona. Arsenal’s interest in the France international has not gone unnoticed at Camp Nou, and the Spanish club have already moved to line up a possible replacement.
Barcelona have made an initial approach for Tottenham right-back Pedro Porro, contacting his representatives as they weigh their options.
Porro only signed a new long-term contract in June, tying him to Spurs until 2031, and De Zerbi views him as a key part of his project. Any deal would be complicated and expensive, but if Arsenal make a decisive move for Kounde, Barcelona’s pursuit of Porro is expected to intensify.
Ndiaye turns down Saudi move as Premier League giants watch
Iliman Ndiaye has rejected an offer from Al Hilal, a decision that keeps the Everton forward firmly on the radar of Premier League heavyweights.
The Senegal international has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park this summer, but reports suggest he wants to stay in England’s top flight. At 26, he is said to be confident of attracting major interest in future windows and feels no need to rush into a switch now.
Arsenal and Manchester United have both previously been credited with interest in Ndiaye. His refusal to head to Saudi Arabia will only sharpen the focus on his next step.
Guessand returns, Palace look ahead
Crystal Palace have completed the return of Evann Guessand on a season-long loan from Aston Villa, with an option to buy.
“I’m so happy to be here,” Guessand said, recalling “good memories” from his previous spell and insisting this is only the beginning as he targets more to come at Selhurst Park.
