Amorim Alters Milan's Midfield with Loftus-Cheek's New Role

Rúben Amorim has sprung a late surprise. Yunus Musah, widely tipped to start in the heart of Milan’s midfield, is set to begin on the bench against Lazio, with Sky Sport Italia reporting a reshaped Rossoneri spine in Rome.

Instead, Adrien Rabiot will anchor central midfield alongside Luka Modric, pushing Ruben Loftus-Cheek into a more advanced, attacking role behind the striker. It’s a clear tactical statement: more craft between the lines, more physical presence driving into the box.

The rest of the XI stays as expected. Pervis Estupiñán keeps his place at left wing-back, offering width and aggression down that flank, while Samuel Chukwueze returns on the opposite side to give Milan a direct outlet and pace on the break.

Italy starlet Alphadjo Cissé lines up as the other attacking midfielder, operating off Gonçalo Ramos, who once again leads the line as the lone centre-forward. Ramos carries the scoring burden; Cissé and Loftus-Cheek will be asked to feed him and crash the box themselves.
