Alexis Mac Allister has turned down some of Europe’s biggest hitters to stay at Liverpool and throw himself into Andoni Iraola’s new project.

That conviction has effectively slammed the door on any move this summer, regardless of the calibre of the suitors or the money on the table. At 27, and entering what should be his peak years, Mac Allister has chosen to double down on Liverpool rather than chase a fresh start elsewhere.
Liverpool, for their part, are just as firm. The club are already planning to open talks over a new contract later this year, recognising both his performances and his importance to the rebuild under Iraola. Mac Allister has two years left on his current deal, but the intention is to extend and upgrade those terms as a statement of faith.
There is no push from the player’s side to explore an exit. No angling, no quiet shop window. His focus is on returning to work and cementing himself as a central pillar of Iraola’s Liverpool, both tactically and in the dressing room.
Interest from Real Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea is not going away any time soon. But Mac Allister’s stance is unambiguous: he wants to stay, lead from the heart of Liverpool’s midfield and help shape the next chapter of a club starting over under a new voice on the touchline.
